There are situations ,events and circumstances when people tend to lie or simply exaggerate the truth .

Lying is considered a vice ,but if paid attention to ,there are many an occasion where most of us refrain from speaking the absolute truth , not because we hold any ulterior motives,it is just the daily grind of life , which is filled with matters of grey shades and so is our communication and expressions .

Our communication and expressions always lies somewhere between the two extreme dimensions of absolute truth and white lies!

Case 1 ; Jimmy and Sara are best of friends since childhood ,but now living in two different towns, busy with their respective business ventures and life, they connect more often over the phone ,sharing the highs and lows of life with each other . During one such conversation Jimmy inquired with Sara about a house she purchased long back and that if she is getting any returns from it , on asking Sara immediately shared the rent amount along with a long story of how she has been struggling and had went through many financial and insurance issues regarding the property.

Based on the first impression ,the narration and conversation appears as an ordinary one among friends ,but in reality it left Sara feeling guilty and upset ,because all that she had shared had very little elements of truth and most of it was ,a white lie .

After a long struggle with her guilt, Sara reached out to a Coach with the issue ,seeking help to find out what made her unnecessarily lie and produce incorrect information ,now the same narration became the turning point for her ,it came as an opportunity to know her self better ,raise awareness of her self ,and understand why she behave the way she did.

The Coaching Program Understand your Why gave Sara

  • An insight into her deeper Why’s
  • The perception she held about herself
  • The meanings she attached to her relationship with Jimmy

Through Coaching Sara learnt that she ,had always considered herself at par with Jimmy, but could not really succeed in her business as her friend, also being among the youngest in her siblings she was always bullied by her elder brother . Her childhood was a difficult one and that develop a limiting belief for her ,that she was not good enough to do anything with a constant comparison to her friend Jimmy and her other schoolmates.

A case like Sara and there are many others , where childhood and growing year stories and events create strong limiting beliefs , making most of us stay stuck in our vicious circles self created by our own web of thoughts and incorrect perceptions .

Self awareness is a key factor ,which helps in breaking through the conundrums of life ,paving way for clarity ,success and personal growth .

Next time you find yourself confused, exercise self introspection to gauge what is at play! and if required ,reach out ,seek help, get coached.
