It was 9th April 2020, as usual was planning to retire to bed by around 10:00pm, for an Indian summer , it was a bit unusual, because it had rained all evening and the temperatures had remarkably plummeted ,making the bed cozy and an inviting place to be nestled for the night.
I usually do not struggle to sleep, but today was different ,and I do not know why , I lied down, recollecting my best childhood memories which could lull me to sleep, I have always been doing it and considered it the best lullaby for a dreamy eyed adult like me.
While it was past midnight ,and I dreaming with my open eyes, I sensed a light on my face , the air blowing more stronger than before ,and as the wind blew, the curtain of my window along with it, exposed me to a full moon smiling radiantly outside.
Initially thinking it to have forgotten to turn the lamp switch ,with closed eyes I checked the switch but found it in a switch off mode, as I opened my eyes, was welcomed by a soft breeze caressing my face along with the moonlight , a full moon in its complete glory !
A divine experience with nature, brought a deep sense of calmness and peace, awestruck by it beauty ,I laid in my bed, with my head upright gazing at the moon .
I’ve always been awestruck with Nature but there is something special about the Moon, I lay staring at it,exactly as I have always since childhood , the only difference was this time lying down on a bed.
In the last monsoon, the old coconut tree ,opposite to my room was uprooted by the winds and made huge space for enough sunshine , but I didn’t knew this space would also include the moonlight, from a full moon ,directly from my window on me ,along with cool breeze ,making sleep a very pleasant experience , more pleasant than a dream!
While experiencing it ,I tried grabbing my smart phone to capture the beautiful moon ,but realized the low light and settings were not good enough to capture a moment like this.
Few moments are special ,and experiential in nature. They cannot be captured by any video, cameras or sketch, but stay trapped in the deep recess of mind ,etched in our memories ,for many years to come, helping us relive the joy ,sometimes as a solace to an aching heart or a relief to an anxious mind
