Commitment

A key alphabet “C” in the world of Coaching is Commitment .

It is not very often looked upon ,but is the number one reason which has the power to determine the success and failure of any coaching assignment or relationship.

In my early days as a Coach, my profile ,cv, and resume were active on all the leading job portals ,and when when I chose to establish Guide&Advice , I made no changes in the job portals, portraying myself as an active job seeker . As a result ,for the next two years ,I still received calls from manpower agencies, seeking my time for interviews ,some referrals also reached out considering my past experiences.

But Coaching the profession it is, with low barrier entry, being a successful and a good coach is a challenge in itself!. This could be the only profession in which, both the parties(Coach & Client) need to constantly learn, unlearn and re learn with COMMITMENT.

During the most ambiguous phase ,where one is working hard to narrow down on a niche, design marketing campaigns ,working on content ,producing social media post ,for days, weeks and months ,but with no sign of any paid client ,and amidst this comes a lucrative offer , with a 6 figure salary ,it touches your raw nerve , puts one in a spot where the vulnerable side of me said to give up ,choose the more certain and safe path ,than an unknown road which was still far fetched from what I had envisioned.

But ,it also brought the following learnings :

  1. I , Realized I was there but not completely committed to the Coaching business , somewhere in the middle sometimes wanting to hold on and at times let go.

2.Lack of commitment ,also reflected my lack of certainty in my own craft.

3.These beliefs I was operating out of my own sub conscious mind , which were indirectly getting manifested in my work as a Coach. Communication is never linear ,What I believed in, showed up everywhere.

The change happened ,when I re wrote my narrations, worked on my limitations and stood committed to one value which was , come what may, I shall pursue and deliver value to both my business and my clients, with no compromise ,& with excellence in all the services rendered.
