We all fail in Life , at some point or the other and in some area or the other
Failure is normal
Failure is inevitable
Failure is part of life
Failure comes in many forms, financial loss, job loss, chronic illness , strained relationships, addicted to bad habits, and much more
But at every failure ,success does not evade us.
Success comes when we learn ,commit and admit our failures and with a strong will ,work towards to bring in the desired change.
Therefore ,success is not an end result of failure, lack of commitment to change is!
I failed ,when despite a huge successful launch of a technology project, I was immediately laid off from my job along with several others, I failed when despite 12 years into work experience, I could not clear a single HR interview , I failed to perform, despite being a top performer with a track record of success for straight 5 consecutive years.
With many such failures , every time I tasted success, was only because of the following
- Self Reflection : I took a note , to identify the lessons that can be learnt from the episodes of failure.
- Open Mind : Identified and accepted major or minor mistakes, errors committed ,sometimes an incorrect approach adapted in my pursuits.
- Build a Plan of Action : Exercise grit ,commitment and a strong will to move forward ,get into action ,and bring in the desired change, regardless of the discomfort.
Key Point to remember ; This is not a one time work, instead an ongoing cycle achieved through perseverance. Success and failures are part of life, and will be part of us as long as we live. There is no escape from either of it.
Most great people have achieved their greatest success just one step beyond their greatest failure .
