Mindfulness as per the Neuroscience , is a powerful habit, which if you learn and practice ,can provide a permanent shift in the mindset, and the way we perceive the world within and outside.
It can profoundly change our approach and even guarantee a healthy mind ,resilient enough to take on the world of constant stress and grind .
What is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness is the practice of purposely bringing one’s attention in the present moment without judgment, a skill one develops through meditation or other training.
But as attractive as it may sound , it is not easy to practice Mindfulness, because our self and the brain is not fundamentally built this way.
We all have tendency to distract ,and we have been doing it since millions of years.
Today ,through my post I would like to share with you a simple technique ,that can assist you being more mindful.
You can choose any area of your life, and slowly then start practicing in other areas, doing it all at once may defeat the very purpose of it .
Start by finding a pen and a notebook and draw the template given below . (The thoughts given it it is for illustration purpose only )
You can fill your diary or notebook it by end of the day ,or as the day progress at different time intervals.
Penn down your thoughts .Continue doing this exercise for 3 weeks or more as per your convenience ,the more time you fill, you end up collecting more data on your thought pattern.
Towards the end of period , you will find the following :
- A thought pattern emerges
- The various thoughts that constantly fills your mind
- Pattern explaining are you one of those ,who dwell more in the past or worry about the future .
- Connection of the thought and the activity meaning; (do most of your thoughts come when you are doing household chores, or are working on a task related to a critical project)
This simple technique is just the basic step towards building your awareness , doing it will further prepare you to practice mindfulness the effective way.

You need to simply stay present in the moment ,and every time your mind drifts .Gently get back to the present moment .Mindfulness
How to Stay in the moment – While you eat, pay full attention to the food, as if you will be asked to judge it ,relish the texture, the crunch the taste ,the aroma as you swallow every morsel of it.
Similarly ,if you are on a walk ,stay in the moment – notice and pay attention fully to the environment, the design, the exterior, the smell or any sound in the background.
Mindfulness is a way of a life, a deep philosophy, beyond a mere practice, one day will get there, for now, let’s just practice the basics of it.
