A few weeks ago, I happened to watch a web series titled Rings of Power, a prequel to the famous Lord of the Rings trilogy based on John Ronal Reuel J.R.R Tolkien’s phenomenal work.

Some of the scenes within the series moved me profoundly, this is so because the story and the lesson hold a lot of relevance to my own, no wonder I was drawn to it and ended up watching it, more than once, to gather the lessons and to repeat so that it stays longer in the head.

Then a few weeks later at a family gathering, while everyone was discussing their respective views on today’s movie and the content, I shared my excitement about this particular web series, including the specific scenes that I wanted to share with those who have been part of my life, and been through the same stories, but in doing so, I found myself the loudest in the room, while I kept talking, very quickly I realized, no one amidst my family and the extended one showed any interest in the conversation.

I was alone in it, enthusiastic and excited about something that has clouded my thoughts and emotions so deeply.

Oftentimes in life, experiences that move us, and influence us profoundly, may not necessarily hold the same impact on others.

Why?

because our Life holds its beauty from the uniqueness it offers to everyone, simply put each to its own!

So, whenever you find yourself alone and aloof, instead of questioning yourself or feeling isolated from others, pause and ponder on the following ;

  • Life is a unique journey, each on its own
  • Our perception is our very own, it is not necessarily be understood or shared with the rest of others in a similar way
  • What makes you happy, may not make others experience the same emotion of happiness
  • The intensity of emotions, both positive and negative are processed by each individual in their own unique way
  • We believe and perceive based on a combination of several key factors influencing us in our growing years

While you understand the different unique views we all hold, in doing so, do not forget to celebrate your own unique ones, just don’t cancel it, if it lacks a wider appeal or acknowledgment.

A man cannot be comfortable without his own approval.
