This is it

Today is the 21st Dec 2022, it’s the winter solstice, a time of the year in which the Northern part of the world may experience sunshine very little, with a short day and a long night, while the southern part of the world experience the opposite of it.

If we deeply reflect, Nature has in abundance the best practices to follow and if we do so, it has numerous benefits to it.

Winter Solstice is a cycle, indicating a shift in the Sun’s position in alignment with the earth, indicating an end of dark winter days, and an onset of coming days, with more sunshine and growth.

All of this happens, BUT eventually over a period of time and not just overnight.

Learning from this beautiful cycle of change from the cosmos, let’s practice solstice in our respective lives, to start, pause and begin again.

So,

Instead of counting what goals you could not meet or things not accomplished, for a change, think of all the best things you have gained, from the previous cycle of 21st Dec 2021 to this day, all that you had learned and contributed.

Then, take a pause, slow down and offer your deepest gratitude for all the good in your life.

None of us know, what the time to come has stored in for us, so instead of planning or chasing what’s yet to come, let’s practice Solstice just like the Sun and make the most of it.

Enjoy the present moment, rejoicing in all that you have.

Jon Kabat Zin, the leading expert who has given the world, the MBSR, a mindfulness stress reduction technique, widely used for most mental health ailments, explains his secret in 3 simple words “This is it.

“This is it” – a secret to happy and a healthy mind and body.

Putting it into practice is – to simply – be present, and live your present moment.

Meditation is the only intentional, systematic human activity which at bottom is about not trying to improve yourself or get anywhere else, but simply to realize where you already are.

Kabat-Zinn, Jon.

Life is happening in the now, let’s live it in the now.
