​Recently I met an old friend of mine and found that she was bothered by her growing age and still not been able to make it.

The coach inside me urged me to immediately assist her but trying to control my chronic need to help everyone in the world, I simply asked her what was it that kept her in a low mood and what was this vague statement about still not being able to make it? 

She replied, that she has some set rules in life, and now when she finds most of them are still incomplete, it’s taking a toll on her mental and emotional health as she feels more left behind, and isolated while the world around her is having the best time of life.

She then constantly compares the world with hers and finds more and more being pushed into depths of disappointment. 

On learning about her story, I found a common pattern often overlooked, which is a set of vague rules, we decide for ourselves, which are powerful enough to keep us stuck than help in any ways, while most of us ,including my dear fried, remain oblivious to it .
